Types of Chemicals Peels Melbourne

Each chemical peel is classified under its strength.

    Superficial Peels (Light Peel):

    A superficial peel is the mildest form of chemical peel. The peeling agents are Glycolic Acid and Salicylic Acid. A light peel can be used to treat fine wrinkles, acne, uneven skin tone and dryness. A light peel can be performed between 2-5 weeks.

How Long Does It Take?

A Superficial Peel usually takes about 10 to 15 minutes for the face; larger body parts will require more time.

    Medium Peel:

    This peel is used to remove skin cells from both the outer layer of skin (epidermis) and upper part of your middle layer of skin (dermis). This peel is used to go deeper into your skin and can be used to treat acne scars, deeper wrinkles and uneven skin color.

    Deep Chemical Peel:

    For deep chemical peeel, the chemical phenol is used to penetrate down to the lower dermal layer of your skin. You will need a local anesthetic to manage discomfort that you will feel in your skin during the process.

    For a deep chemical peel, a pre-treatment with the use of a retinoid cread ( vitamin A) will be needed to prepare the skin and speed up the healing process.

    Our physicians may recommend a deep chemical peel you have deeper wrinkles, scars, or precancerous growths. A deep chemical peel can only be performed once.

    Glycolic Peel:

    The glycolic peel is great for the exfoliation and rejuvenation of aging skin. A glycolic acid peel can be seen as a special solution that removes dead skin cells from the body. The peel uses glycolic acid that removes a layer of deep skin cells which then reveals new skin with improved tone and texture. Glycolic peels are great for acne, scarring, and wrinkles.
